“In a subtly political film, Tariq Tapa's debut feature explores the lives of two young individuals unable to escape from the city of Srinagar in Kashmir. Dilavar is an extremely intelligent and creative student, who engages in a variety of petty criminal activities in order to make money and escape from the clutches of his uncle. He encounters Bani, recently returned from the US, who is being goaded into an arranged marriage. She too longs to escape. Both are prisoners of their fate and agree to meet at the bridge. The film is an extremely well-structured and insightful study of the problems that beset the volatile region of Kashmir, a region that is claimed both by India and Pakistan.”

Zero Bridge is nominated twice for the Independent Spirit Awards 2010.
The film will screen in LA on Saturday January 23, 2010, and in NYC on Thursday February 4, 2010. Director Tariq Tapa will attend both shows for Q&A’s.

JOHN CASSAVETES AWARD - Given to the best feature made for under $500,000. Award given to the writer, director, and producer.

Winners will be announced March 5th, 2010 in Los Angeles and will be telecast on IFC.

ZERO BRIDGE will have its Spanish Premiere in the Feature Competition at L’Alternativa, Barcelona Independent Film Festival. Screening is Nov 17.

Director and Cast still in attendance at the Mumbai International Film Festival. ZERO BRIDGE is again featured in the Entertainment Section of today’s Bombay Times/Times of India. This time it's two lead articles. The first article is a full cast photo as the lead story in the festival write-up. The second article is a solo interview with Tariq all about the making and reception of ZB.
